Betfair Summer Family Fun Day...spotlight on Peppa Pig

On Sunday 24th July a star studded line-up will be joining Scotty the Ascot Mascot as Ascot Racecourse hosts its 2nd Family Day of 2011, the Betfair Summer Family Fun Day. The day is a colourful spectacle that offers something for everyone, with a combination of thrilling racing action and free entertainment for the children. In the run up to the raceday, each week we are focusing on one of the TV characters that you'll get to meet and this week is the turn of Peppa Pig.

Peppa Pig has become one of the most famous pigs and is loved by children all over the world. She lives with Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig and her little brother George. Peppa likes to play with her best friend Suzy Sheep and looking after her brother George, but most of all she loves jumping in muddy puddles, laughing and making loud snorting noises! Peppa and her family like to go swimming, visit their grandparents, go to the playground or riding their bikes. Her brother George loves his toy dinosaur and carries it everywhere with him. Peppa is looking forward to coming to Ascot Racecourse and saying hello to you, so we hope to see you there. She will even be telling a few stories around the Bandstand which is definitely not to be missed!

Betfair Summer Family Fun Day...spotlight on Ben and Holly from their Little Kingdom

On Sunday 24th July a star studded line-up will be joining Scotty the Ascot Mascot as Ascot Racecourse hosts its 2nd Family Day of 2011, the Betfair Summer Family Fun Day. The day is a colourful spectacle that offers something for everyone, with a combination of thrilling racing action and free entertainment for the children. In the run up to the raceday, each week we are focusing on one of the TV characters that you'll get to meet and this week is the turn of Ben and Holly from their Little Kingdom.

Ben a young elf and his best friend Princess Holly who is a fairy live hidden amongst thorny brambles in their Little Kingdom. Holly is learning to do magic but it always has a tendency to go wrong! Ben’s not to keen on doing magic but he is very good at making things, like toys. Gaston the Ladybird is Ben and Holly’s extra special friend. He tends to act like a dog and because he has wings he often gives Ben a lift on his back. He’s quite a messy ladybird and loves to eat smelly food!

The show only started in 2009 and has already won two awards; BAFTA for Best Pre-School animated series in 2009 and British Animation Award for Best Pre-School animated series 2010. The show is broadcasted in over 43 international channels including Africa, Asia-Pacific and Europe. It’s been highly successful in the UK and Ben and Holly will be here on 24th July to say hello. So why not come on down and meet them, I’m sure they’d love to see you!

Betfair Summer Family Fun Day...spotlight on Fireman Sam

On Sunday 24th July a star studded line-up will be joining Scotty the Ascot Mascot as Ascot Racecourse hosts its 2nd Family Day of 2011, the Betfair Summer Family Fun Day. The day is a colourful spectacle that offers something for everyone, with a combination of thrilling racing action and free entertainment for the children. In the run up to the raceday, each week we are focusing on one of the TV characters that you'll get to meet and this week is the turn of Fireman Sam.

Fireman Sam is still as popular as he was back in the 1980’s when he was first brought to our television screens. The idea behind Fireman Sam came from two ex-firemen in Kent which was then further developed and turned into the television program. It was initially created for the Welsh TV audience but after its popularity grew he was broadcasted in English throughout the United Kingdom. The series was so popular that it was nominated for a BAFTA TV Award for Best Short Animated Film. Fireman Sam is still admired all over the world and has been translated into over 25 languages. You’ll get the chance to meet Fireman Sam throughout the day and meet some of his fireman friends in a real fire engine!

Betfair Summer Family Fun Day...spotlight on Scooby-Doo

On the 24th July a star studded line-up will be joining Scotty the Ascot Mascot as Ascot Racecourse hosts its 2nd Family Day of 2011, the Betfair Summer Family Fun Day. The day is a colourful spectacle that offers something for everyone, with a combination of thrilling racing action and free entertainment for the children. In the run up to the raceday, each week we are focusing on one of the TV characters that you'll get to meet and this week is the turn of Scooby-Doo.
Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! was initially created in 1969 and has been watched by millions of children for over 40 years. Shaggy, Fred, Velma, Daphne and Scooby-Doo travel around in their Mystery Machine van, solving any scary mysteries they come across. The producers have created numerous follow-ups and spin-off's of the animated series. It has become so successful that two blockbuster movies were produced enabling children to watch Scooby-Doo and his friends on the big screen! The latest instalment of Scooby-Doo was broadcasted on television in July 2010. We hope to see more of this lovable dog on our screens and you'll get the opportunity very soon to meet Scooby-Doo in person on Sunday 24th July. We look forward to seeing you there!
